Lenses are expensive, but protecting them from accidental damage isn't. UV filters are clear, so they can generally be left on a lens permanently for 24/7 protection.
CPL (Circular Polarizer) Filter

If you're shooting inside under fluorescent lights, this filter can help you get the most out of your photos. If the fluorescent lights you're using are not compatible, then you can still use this filter to get some interesting visual effects.
